Terms of service

These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and Aarti ("Aarti", "we", "us"). By creating an account, watching a darshan, making an offering, or otherwise using Aarti, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Aarti.

You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian who accepts these terms on your behalf, to use Aarti or make any payment on it.

Aarti is a platform that lets temples livestream their aarti and darshan to devotees, and lets devotees follow temples, set reminders, watch live and recorded services, and make voluntary offerings and subscriptions. Temples and other organisations supply their own streams and content; Aarti hosts and delivers them. In doing so Aarti acts as an intermediary and does not endorse, verify, or take responsibility for the religious content of any stream.

You are responsible for keeping your login secure and for everything done under your account. Give us accurate information and keep it current. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised use. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used unlawfully, or puts other devotees or temples at risk.

Offerings (daan) you make through Aarti are voluntary contributions to the temple or cause you choose. Subscriptions are recurring offerings that renew automatically for the interval you select (for example, monthly) at the price shown, until you cancel. You authorise us and our payment processor to charge your chosen payment method for each renewal. You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account; cancellation stops future renewals and takes effect at the end of the current paid period.

Prices are shown in the currency at checkout and may include applicable taxes and processing fees. Payments are handled by our third-party payment processor under their own terms; we do not store full card details. Refunds, where available, are governed by our Refund Policy. Tax receipts and any eligibility for benefits such as 80G are handled by the receiving temple, not by Aarti, and we do not provide tax advice.

Aarti is a place of worship. You agree not to misuse it: no unlawful activity, no harassment or hateful conduct, no impersonation, no attempt to break, overload, scrape, or gain unauthorised access to our systems, no fraudulent payments or money laundering, and no recording, re-broadcasting, or commercial reuse of a temple's stream without permission. We may remove content or restrict access to keep Aarti safe and lawful.

Temples and their representatives retain the rights to their own streams and recordings, and grant Aarti the licence needed to host and deliver them to devotees. The Aarti name, design, and software are ours and our licensors'. You receive a personal, limited, non-transferable right to use Aarti for your own devotion; you do not acquire any ownership of the platform or of temple content.

If you believe content on Aarti infringes your copyright or other rights, contact us with the details and we will act on valid notices, including under the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act and India's Information Technology Act and rules, by removing or disabling access to the material and, where required, notifying the temple that supplied it.

We work hard to keep the darshan flowing, but Aarti is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that streams will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available in every region, and we are not responsible for a temple's own schedule, content, or acts. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Aarti and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

You may stop using Aarti and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we must do so to comply with the law. When access ends, the sections meant to survive — payments owed, content licences, disclaimers, liability limits, and dispute terms — continue to apply.

Aarti serves devotees in both the United States and India. If you use Aarti from within India, these terms are governed by the laws of India and disputes are subject to the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra. If you use Aarti from the United States or elsewhere, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, U.S.A., and disputes are subject to the state and federal courts located in Delaware. In each case we will first try, in good faith, to resolve any concern with you directly — please contact us before starting formal proceedings.

We may update these terms as Aarti grows or the law changes. When we make a material change, we will update the date below and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Aarti after a change means you accept the updated terms.
